I have an Old RX75 John Deere it was given to me for free. I think the igniter is bad. Where is some places other than John Deere that I can get an Igniter for this 9HP Kawaski Engine. I want something cheaper than 70.00 dollars.

It has a weak spark And is blowing small poofs of fire back through the Carb. I have checked Carb, valves and Crankshaft key and all seem to be good. It used to run for a about 10 minutes then it would die. THis is my only option left. I hate Electrical issues. Any other thoughts would be welcome also.

Thanks

The ignitor either works or it doesnt, so if you have spark its ok

After Checking everything Else I broke down and purchased the igniter from a John Deere Dealer. This was the problem. Plugged it in bolt it on and it purrs like a Kitten. The Spark I had was only arcing a screw driver to ground. I did not have any spark when I put the spark plug in the same condition. So I now have a 110.00 dollar RX75 Rear Engine Rider that has a bagger on it. Not bad for a Older MOwer.

By the way, you answered your own question :p

Yes, it is a John Deere mower...

But it's a Kawasaki engine, hence Kawasaki makes the igniter OR they order it but surely they would sell it.
And if they do, NAPA might be an option.

Something to keep in mind.
