My brothers yard is Confederate Fescue, Mine is Bermuda Triangle. His stripes done with 44" toro srs. Mine with a Snapper Pro 3500z 61" So for all the stripers, just remember, the grass type helps more than the person cutting it. I did both of these.

The fescue does make for some beautiful stripes, but we live in the sandy soil of nc. Fescue is hard to keep green. Funny you should ask about the little mower, I just took some pics my two year old laid down. What you think?

How low are you cutting that bermuda at? I cut my bermuda yards at around 4".

That bermuda looks short. They both look nice but I tend to lean more towards fescue. I love the way it looks, much softer too.

The bermuda is short. 1.75 inches. Its hybrid bermuda. I don't think it would grow to 4" all summer. Its supposed to be kept short. I cut it every three or four days.

While the fescue lawn looks like it needs water, I still think it looks better than the Bermuda.

Even the Bermuda looks stressed and brown.

What is "Confererate Fescue"?

Ok thanks, it's a little different over our way. If it rains and you let it go a week this stuff just takes off. I would cut it lower, but a lot of my yards have patches of blue or fescue that have managed to ward off the bermuda or they are a mix, and if I cut that low they will burn out within four days of 90+ degree weather. Plus the back yards rarely have bermuda and it would look weird if the front was at 1.5" and the back was at 4". Almost no one here cuts anything that low(1.75).

"Confederate" not "Confererate". It's just a locally grown fescue blend sod that stands up to southern heat. and even with irrigation, we have had a month with no rain and 95-100 temps. My bermuda does look a little stressed, but when its getting the right amount of water the look can't be beat. I just can't justify $200 water bills to keep the grass dark green. I'll settle for light green during a drought. But thanks for the comments on my house and the striping. Maybe I'll trhow the water to it for a week and put up some new pics!!!
