LMAO.. I still have to produce a plan for the system. A computer generated one would look better than a hand drawn one...

Doubtful, landscaping plans change too often. You're better off drawing one after the completed project.

Hey Pro-Irrigators,

The Pro Contractor Studio at the RainCad site is a newer product that makes it easier for you to meet the state regs for drawings. This is priced with a monthly subscription and alot cheaper than buying the larger packages that RainCad sells.
I've used RainCad for years. I like it.
Alot of the guys on this site might not know that we have to give a drawing to the customer now, with the new 2009 regs.

Texas requires the plan to be submitted before permit is granted.. Finished plan is required to be on site at all times during installation...

Very different.....No smoke and mirrors here anymore.

It is tougher to be an irrigator in TX now than to meet the IA standards.

Yea, this is my first install for pay.. I put mine in a few years back... Like I said earlier, I have four different licenses in the medical field and I have never taken a 8Hr exam with a 30% pass rate. You can bet you A$$ I don't let this puppy expire... Do not want to retake that test again..:dizzy:

"Dammit Jim! I'm an Irrigator not a Doctor!"

Interesting switch-a-roo....

I was in a pissed off mood and I cut my finger with my pvc saw today.. Can you fix me up?

Anyways...
Your first post made it sound like you were asking for a program to do designs for you.

A computerized design is perfectly fine .. As long as you design it properly of course.

I like to play with my big boys toys (combines and semi trucks)....I like to work as long as I get paid good ( and get to be the boss)

I agree with the second comment. The fact that you hear so much about it and all the angst involved with doing designs and getting designs past reviews should tell you a lot. A very large part of TX irrigation for years was just putting them in the ground with no design. A design before an install? That is a paradigm shift.

Boots is annoyed with you because you made my point on health care. He seems to think everybody in the medical profession will happily take a 30% pay cut to work for the government. The last thing he wanted to read was that people are ditching the health care industry to remain free as irrigators.

What, an 'industry' regular can't push the industry agenda in forums, irregardless of the truth?

irregardless, the word, is avoided by those that respect the English language.

It is considered obtuse.

Texas does not require a plan be submitted before pulling the permit. Some cities will require a plan review, but that is not the state saying you need it.

you are right it is the local permitting agency that wants to see the plan before the permit but the state requires the finished plans to be onsite at all times during installation so you still have to have the plans before you can install it..

Yep plans must be on site for the job. And a as-built given to the property owner.
