Well, even tho we do have a new truck, i still have a personal truck. It isnt anything special, but i bought it with the intention to fix it up my self. It is a 1989 Chevy C1500, Regular Cab, Short Bed, It has a Chevy 350, 5.7L, it also has a glasspack. Heres a link to a vid i made when i first got it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGXG-O7VVrI (i know its gay, but whatever).
Heres a link to some pics, i was gonna put a flatbed on it, but have decides not to for now.. http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=276305
I used bondo on the tailgate, and sanded, taped, then painted it. I know its not perfect, but im learning...

I hate that they need to have a law for aerosol canned items because some losers want to get high off of them. I went to Lowe's a when I was 16 and tried to buy 5 cans of paint and the manager said no way. I'm glad I'm 18 now!

Yea, i found out when i was at Walmart last year, and was buying some paint. The reqister made a beeping sound, like when people buy beer or cigarettes, and she asked to see some ID. I asked to speak with her manager, and i raised hell (the clerk didnt know why i couldnt buy it). Funny thing, when the mager left, the clerk was like "im sorry, but that rule is stupid, but they do let you buy hairspray."
I thought what an idiot, i could still see the manager, so i went up to him and told him what the clerk just told me. He looked pissed, well anytime i want to buy paint, ill do the same thing and raise hell. :)

I would have washed it up, but like i said, it aint driving, I gotta do a axle swap. I busted it while i was mudding and what not in our fields. :(
But, i washed that mud off inside my garage, with the shop vac, and my steamer thing, then painted it... Problem solved! well kinda

Looks good. I know the lawn is stupid. In NY I think it is only on paint not all areasols. It was more of a way to stop graffiti around here. I can buy paint at the local lumber yard (I am 16) because I know everyone who works there and they know that I am not going to do anything stupid with it. I use spray shellac and stain killer primer all the time for wood working projects.

I hate those tail light covers...when I see them on a truck I want to ram the truck because it makes seeing the taillights more difficult, especially when the sun is shining on them.

That was the rust on the driver side, bed...
I pulled the crap off (old metal), and cleaned it out... Then i put a layer of bondo, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another, then another. Then went to bed, sanded it down, put a layer of bondo, then sanded that... Then put on some primer... What you think?
Im still new to bondo, i got a TON more to do, and will sand this down more too, but it looks better for now...

Bondo cannot fix metal structurally, and rust will return if not neutralized. The only repair that lasts is welded metal with a good paint or galvanizing behind. My truck had rust on the roof line but I fixed it 5 years ago by cutting, welding and filling with old red lead paint. My friend who has a 1993 F350 fixed his roof line with fiberglass cloth and bondo. The rust returned last year worse than ever. Paint is indeed overpriced but one day I want to paint my ancient 1990 F250.

Yea, i know, its temporary, im still gonna have both rockers replaced, passanger side cab corner, and that repaired (cut out, and replaced)...
Heres some pics while i was working on it... The hood is half sanded, to see what it looked like... Then it primed... Then b4 and after for one the driver door...

It kinda sucked tho, one day a few weeks back, i used black spray paint to paint the passeger side. Well, it looked like crap, so i sanded that, then re, re primed it... lol, i didnt think to take a pic tho...
Well, heres what the truck looks like now. But i did clean up the rims and tires...
Well, i found a pic with some of the black paint still on the door... I know, it was stupid to do in the first place, but i learned my lesson...
Im gonna keep working it when i have time, im gonna get estimates to get the rust cut out and replaced. Im also gonna keep using bondo on the dings on the body, and their are a few spots where the paint was peeling, but i just primed over it, so i will sand it down, the re prime it...
