Why would you want long sleeve shirts during summer when its in the 90s or above. All of my guys wear tanks with lettering on front and back. Tanks cost less and last as long as other shirts and my guys are happier with them.

Long sleeve shirts protect your arms from the sun. People that live in hotter climates keep all their skin covered . I was thinking about them also. I hope someone responds with some helpful information.
I saw some Lawn guys wearing green T shirts. One guy had cut the sleeves off...Looked great...if you live in a trailer park, and your name is Earl.

My Dad has a strong farming background and helps me in the biz, ya know what? I can't get him to wear a T-shirt. He only wears those blue lightwieght long sleeve denim shirts. Covers his arms from sun exposure. he wears 'em until they're so paper thin you can darn near se thru 'em!

I would try a local place rather than a place online. That way you can actually go in and see the shirts they use in person. I think you get better service that way as welel.

The long sleeve shirts keep sunburn away ..You may think its hotter wearing long sleeves but it actually will keep you cooler in the long run ..Plus i like to keep my skin silky smooth :) ..My Lady likes it that way ... The sun here is a killer and its been hittin 110 on the heat index lately here ...

The answer to your problem is Columbia l/s shirts they are a little pricey but very comfortable . They have a mesh vent in the back, 2 front pockets the are AWSOME,and they last .

Yeah I heard that the long sleeve shirts keep you cool but how? I've heard that they wick away moisture, but i couldn't imagine wearing a long sleeve shirt in 100 degree weather down here in S. Carolina, I'd think I would over heat.

Yes, long sleeve shirts. Towel around the neck dry or wet. Straw hat. My grandmother would also be on my butt about wearing a straw hat, now I do.
Think of it this way. Long sleeves you can roll them up when its hot and roll them down when its cold. t shirts you cant roll down when its cold, they only stay up. Just a thought.

I have some safety green Gildan 50/50 t-shirts that I got when I had some shirts made a while ago and they were only a couple of dollars more then regular t's. Btw they are hot as crap, and I don't know how the mexicans do it.
I only wear them for the couple of chilly days that we have in the winter.
I prefer short sleeve with the spf50 on my arms. Sunscreen keeps you cooler then a long sleeve shirt.
Just my $0.02......

Gildan poly-cotton blend. I love 'em.

The theory behind longs sleeves is, when you sweat it saturates the shirt. When you walk, or even a mild breeze, the saturated shirt acts like a swamp cooler.
Mexicans do not have to worry about sunburns. They do it for the swamp cooler effect.

When I was still working in the field I could never get myself to wear a long sleeve in the summer 100+ days. I would wear shorts and a short sleeve.
Mountain Hardware makes an awesome hot weather shirt that provides UV protection and awesome moisture wicking properties. But will set you back about $50.00 :dizzy:

The long sleeve shirt idea for me is the only way to go ..I am definately not going to wear oily sunscreen . I hate when grass sticks all over my skin and the grass also makes me itchy as heck ( or at least for me it does).. How do you guys wear shorts ..I tried that a few times a long time ago and i couldnt stand the grass all over me and i had little cuts all over my legs from weedeatin and edgin ... I wear the columia UV30 long sleeve shirts , long pants and boots everyday ..But im looking to get shirts for my crew without payin 30 bux a shirt like i have . Thanks for the replies everyone.
