How the heck do you keep the trimmings out of the mulch, tarp? or what?
I hate trimming bushes! to much work and not enough pay to do it!

Those look great, I'm personally not that good at hedge trimming but my helper is amazing. He has been doing this for years and can make them look as perfect as your pictures. I need to take some next time we trim hedges if I remember to.

the how? lots of practice. :) trimming is pretty much all i did for a while. i used an arborist ladder and a stihl hedge trimmer (hl100). with the wax myrtles, i usually start at the top and work my way down. trim away everything but the shape you want.

with the bigger jobs, i always tarp it to keep the mulch clean. it can be a pain working around, but sure takes the headache out of cleanup!

come on by! i'll have a trimmer ready for you. :) we actually experimented with a couple different chemicals--after doing these enough times you start looking for short cuts. :)

" FINALLY " Pictures of hedge trimming worth looking at( Please no offense to others) I own a hedge trimming company and 85% of my business is trimming.I love to look at nice trimming jobs. Its hard to find pics. Some guys just don't have the knack for it but this fellow did a very nice neat job and he knows what I mean when I say good for you for taking the time for tiding up the little loose ends that a lot of others don't see!! Remember alot of these sculptures of animals are just a wire cage in the animal shape and the shrub is allowed to grow through and then it is just a matter of sliding the trimmer over the wire cage.A 2 year old could trim them. Some are done by careful pruning and grafting so these people deserve a tip of your hat.
