Who do you think has the best cut of the ZTRs out there?
I was told today that the ExMark has the best, but that Ferris is coming out with a new deck next year that will compete with them. What about Deere, Dixie, Scag, etc?

I have ran Exmark Ultra Cut deck and Scag Velocity Plus deck - Scag takes the cake. Both leave a good cut but Scags is slightly better, and the discharge on the Scag deck is just incredible.

Gravely Rapid XZ outfront.:clapping:
But I do think the Scags are built as good as the old Gravelys and do cut well.

This would have been a good poll question.I run Dc's and their cut depends on the grass type and length your cutting.

We tested several top machines side by side, in many types and lenth of grass, blades sharpe decks clean, same operators, and come to find there are alot of good machines out there, However 6 operaters from 3 different businesses have all agreed the 7 Iron john deere is indeed second to none when it comes to best cut, discharge and odd as it sounds it has a awesome amount of air comming out the deck which allows you to quickly blow off driveways and walks. Huge time saver.

Ask 10 people you get 10 diff answers lol.
My uncles Craftsman cuts better than his neighbors Sabre by JD........
I think the blade/grass combo has 90% to do with cut quality. I have seen lots of nice cut yards by many diff made mowers. My exmark cuts/stripes great in nice yards with sharp blades, howerver 35hr blades and tall weedy grass is a diff story same as most mowers ive run/seen.

Hey, dont overlook the gravely commercial pm260z. 61 inch cut is nice and easy to work on. I own two and love them. I have to say the best I have personally owned are scag...gravely.....ferris and exmark.
All are worth the money as you will get alot of life and maint. free time out of them.
Walker is a brand I have heard is awesome too. I have not owned one but hear good things.

until they make a fabricated deck instead of stamped, they will not be taken serious.
you have to be insane to make or buy a commercial mower with a stamped deck.
JD has never been known for a quality cut and probably never will.

You sound mis-informed, learn why heavier gauge stamp is an improvement over fabricated

Most agree the 7- Iron is the best in the business in the ZTR and tractor world...the ones who are reluctant to agree just aren't current with whats available....sorry to say

First of all, the last statement is hilarious. You truly are an idiot.
There is a misconception in the industry that fabricated decks are sturdier than stamped decks. This simply is not true. Stamped decks add durability to the product and are not dependent on a series of welds for their overall strength. In addition, manufacturers have more control over the design process of stamped decks; therefore, airflow over the deck is streamlined.
I have personally seen Scag Advantage decks being re welded, because a weld spot as either broken or the metal around it has been weakened. For example, the deck rollers on the back.

you two better stop believing every marketing gimmick you read.
study a little about metal.since you have no common sense.
stamping and bending steel stretches it.making it thinner and weaker.enjoy your junk.

Definitely not the Bobcat Fastcat RZ..........I have to go over some of the lawns twice to get the weeds to cut straight and make it look clean. Maybe it's the blades. I don't know, but am thinking of going with Gator blades to see if it makes a difference.

It is damn good junk. I'll continue to be just as successful as anyone else using JD and I will continue to use their products.

John Deere is damn good stuff. I own quite a bit of it and I have no problems. Gators, Loaders, z turns, rotaries. I like it. I think to each his own, when it comes to commercial equipment...but ya cant knock JD.
