I had a chance to see the t-2500 running. Nice. Light and very powerful. a lot of torqe. It passes all 2006 emmision standards.
Can't wait for my Echo to go . Anyone bought one yet?

nope not yet, but i want one
i tried one out for a weekend, i love it.
the only caution my dealer gave me was that he broke the piece of plastic on top of the trigger. You have to hold that down with your palm and then use your finger to pull the trigger. When i get mine i will make sure i have extra plastic things in my truck. It is pain to try to start it without it.
He said that this year or next every shin weedwacker will be set up this way with the trigger and the new guard.

shin calls it the c4 technology, that is a 4-cycle engine that uses 2-cycle gas. I don't know how that works, just what shin says in their brochure. Don't know if robin makes it, hope not!

I bought one and I am a little disapointed. No smoke and no fumes is great, but the shaft is 2 or 3 inches shorter than the T260 and the string comes out high on the head so you have to tip it over to get down low to the ground, and no strap hanger. But I got parts off a T230X and now I can use a blade. That was good, maybe I will come to like it better. I called my dealer the day I bought it, about trading for a 260 or 270, but he did not want to take it back after just 15 min. of run time. So much for Shindy's 7 day policy. See my thread on T2500. I would love to hear from you.

1. Runs smooth
2. great on gas trimmed (7) 3/4 acre lawns on a one tank
3. Hard to start 4 pull adverage
4. shorter shaft is bad on the back im 6'4"
5. low end torque is great
6. top end power is not that good
7. stock round red .95 line sucks i use 105 stihl square deal line
8. when cold takes a while to "rev up"
9. thottle is sucks
10. expensive!!!!!
11. shoulda kept the 260
12. the newest isn't the best
13. the T230 is the best trimmer made hands down
is my 32/1 mix the cause of the hard starting?????

They are naturally a little harder to start, but Shindaiwa reccomends that you mix the gas at a 50 to 1 ratio. Preferably ShindaiwaONE oil. And I agree with you newer is not always better. I am 6'2" and need a longer trimmer also. I made a $420 mistake, but I may try another head on my T2500. Maybe that will improve conditions some.

my T2500 was $460  :(
I woundn't call it a mistake because,
my employee who uses it 99.9% of the time it is running
(yes i trim my own yard) is 5'10"
and he says he likes it much better than the 230 split boom i also own.
my eb240 that has 1,000,000 hours on it (or so) ;)
still runs like a top
and there is not (to my knowledge) a more powerfull backpack than the shin eb630
i even love my shin chain saw and backpack sprayer
however my 27hp kawi on my 61 tiger is very thristy!!!

I like my t2500 much better now! I put the old style head off a T230X with a heavy square string on and put a strap hanger on. I am getting used to it and like it better each day. The trigger seems to give my finger out though. But you can't have everything.

I was wondering what is the benefit of a 4cycle trimmer that uses 2cycle gas? Seems to me you are going to loose in the long run!

i don't know but i just know that i can do a whole lot more trimming in less time compared to the t-260 because it is lighter, more string is allowed out, and more power. I love them.

i didn't look at the specs, just telling facts coming from the field. I don't buy things by the specs, i buy my equiment upon my opinion and what my workers think of it.
