Engine Rebuild

I am in the process of rebuilding a 16hp kohler magnum out of a walker. I left the block out in the rain like an idiot and now have rust on the cylinder wall and internal of the block itself. How can I remove all of the rust from the block and gears and cylinder wall?

Depends on how deep the rust is. Rust loves cast iron. Might be a good candidate for a electrolysis tank or naval jelly. In that order.
