Gravel Rat

I finally got to haul some gravel with my dump deck. It was only 4600lbs customer only wanted 1.5-2 yards. Kinda glad I didn't put more on the place is a tough spot. I know the person I hauled there 8 years ago.
The truck handled the load fine its been awhile since its hauled something heavy hauling trash isn't heavy.
Now the electric pump its slow but it did the job but as I said its slow still better than shoveling
My main worry was twisting and the deck would really twist but it was fine so that means I don't need to weld gussetts from the long sills to the crossmembers.
I didn't have a camera with me so no pictures.
I was glad I made it out of this place the road is better than it was 8 years ago but its still steep. I had my fingers crossed if I got stuck it would be calling someone for a pull.
To sum it up I'am happy with the dump deck wish it was PTO hydraulic for the speed but the electric pump does the job.
Now I have to phone the tire shop and get some prices on some drive tires I got a recap that is acting up. I don't think the tread is going to peal but the Michelin casing seems to be acting funny. Bandag retreads last longer than the tire itself because the tread cap is hard as iron and its a 22/32 deep tread.
The reason why I run bandags because a bandag is 204 a tire a brandnew Michelin is 340 a tire for 225/70R19.5. Now the retreads I have now are 2 years old have about 31,000 miles on them and have 40% tread left.
When I got the tires one of them is a RV tire its the one giving me the trouble it is doing the the thump thump.
Now I'am going to phone and see what the Ohtsu BI 877 is worth its a traction tire it is one of the better overseas tires its made my Sumitomo.
Not many options when it comes to 19.5 rubber. Not a expense I want to deal with but then again I don't want a tire that is going to let go on me.
I think its a lesson learned that 19.5 rubber doesn't do so well recapped. I used recapped 16 inch for years and 22.5 recapped on trucks. The low profile 19.5 doesn't do so well. A buddy of mine with a FL-50 Freighliner with 245-19.5 had recapped drives and had a bad bounce. Went to virgin firstline drive tires bounce went away or most of it.
