You can use Excel for your books and you contacts. Access is also good for contacts. If you plan on growing at all, invest in Quickbooks Pro. They've already set up all the features that you'd have to program in Excel.

I used MS Small Office Accounting for a while. I liked the reporting. You can use an express version if you do not want to track assets. I still use it for another company I run.

Two options, Microsoft office accountant which comes with the Professional version ($99 on Ebay) or Simple start from Quick books is free

Watch out for the free one they only limit you to 20 customers

Thats the one i downloaded but i will use it for free until i reach 20 accounts then i will buy it. If i like it :usflag:

open office is free and is very similar to MS Office. Quickbooks is better
