We demoed J.D.,Bobcat, New Holland, and Gehl track machines. We ended up buying the Bobcat T300. It is doing a fantastic job for us. We are using it in land clearing and fence building on a daily basis. Running a grapple bucket, tree saw, post hole auger, brush mower, and regular dirt bucket. We liked the way the Bobcat handles a lot better than any of the other brands we tried.
HOWEVER: I would not recommend any track skidsteer for HEAVY use with a mulcher head. Even with the forestry package, the mulcher head really overworks any make or model of track skidsteer. For mulching, go with a dedicated mulching machine like a Fecon.

Duffster, your last post said it all.. :hammerhead:

I'd go demo both and buy the one you feel will best fit your needs and is the best machine for the money.

btw, dont listen to the guy who said buy a Fecon, if you want it for a multipurpose machine, the skid is perfect, I'd like him to tell me the last time he saw and/or used a Fecon with a bucket, or a set of forks on it..

I am the guy who said to look at a dedicated-type mulcher machine. That comment was in case he planned to use the mulcher on the little loader, A LOT.
In fact, you can buy one of the Rayco crawler machines that can easily handle a mulcher, and, they have an adaptor that lets you use most any skidsteer attachment on them. They have one model with loader-type arms. So, yes, you can use a bucket or forks on one of the Rayco machines. Same goes for Fecon, since Rayco makes several of their crawler units.

on the little loader? ;) What? the T300 and 332 are biggest in there brand(well, not the T300, but it might as well be)

And I feel like a jackass now.. I've never seen them before, never even came across pics of one or anything..

What the crap! What a freakin rip off, its a skid with some extra guarding, and a different undercarriage. And probably some other mods, but dam, might as well buy a skidsteer and get multiple uses..

Looks like an ASV doesn't it?
Only different undercarriage and stuff. I'd rather have an ASV! (PT-80 to be exact)

Those machines are super heavy duty. Much more so than any skidsteer you will find. They have sealed cabs, heavy duty A/C systems, extra hydraulic oil cooling capacity, and huge hydraulic oil capacity. I have been running a bigger version of that Fecon, (140 HP), for most of the last 18 months. Those machines can take a day in-day out beating that no standard track skidsteer could survive. I can testify to that.

There is one of those machines in my area too, they are sooo much heavier than they appear on paper, but they are only 6 1/2 feet wide, very nice compact machine.

The Fecon 140 I have been using, weights a little over 16,000 LBS, but does not look that much larger than out Bobcat T300. So yes, they are quite heavy.
