15HP Kaw will only run with choke on

I was mowing a house last week with my Lesco 48" walkbehind and half way into it the morning all of a sudden it started chugging and stalling. It will idle fine for a few seconds then start to die then if I hit the choke it will run fine for a few again then die.

Any one have any ideas?

Its probably a carb. issue. Just clean it out and you should be good to go. you may also want to check the air filter; if its real dirty that may be your problem.

Yeah, I just got done bagging a dry yard. I think Some crap got into the carb. I am going to get into it after lunch and will report back.

I think I'd go ahead and replace the fuel filter first.

Well I decided to examine and shoot some carb cleaner in before I took every thing apart. I was playing with the levers and stuff and the throttle butterfly seemed to be stuck just shy of run because it popped all the way open when I put alittle pressure on it.

I gave it a try after that and it started right up! Now I have to figure out why it got stuck there?
