Scag Hydraulic replacement

I have a Scag Cub (48" deck 19 Kaw engine yr'06). I need to replace a hydraulic pump. Can anyone help me with how to install it? Taking it off and putting the new one on i can handle, it is bleeding of the lines and then someone told me about, letting it run with the tires in the air for a little bit(?). Can anyone tell me what the procedures are and how to do it?

Once the system is re-filled raise and block the drive wheels off the ground. Start the engine and run about 3/4 throttle, Move the controls full forward then full reverse slowly 8 to 10 times then re-check fluid level.

Set the unit on the ground and test run. I use this method on all brand units with no problems.
