Just the other day I saw a cat skid steer, an the tires really stuck out from the machine. An today I was following a cat skidsteer on the highway an this machine also had a very wide stance, compared to mine. What was I looking at an is there a real benefit to the extra wide stance?

They probably had the tires mounted opposite direction on the rims and then flipped the rims with the deep part of the rim out ward. Check out your rims you will notice that the part the bolts to you axle is not centered in the width of the rim it is offset and can be put on either hugging the tire to the machine or sticking it away from the machine. It can help with stability on side slopes and also not allow stuff to build up between the tire and the chassis of the machine.

Bobcat does the same, an S300 can be narrowed down to 72" down from 78" and I have seen a few that are as narrow as 66" with skinny tires.

I looked at mine, no off set at all. that's OK, but that wide stance looked bad azz

Our s300 is 66" wide with the same tires that would come with the 72" package that is one hell of a machine. At the 66" wide package, but the 262c comes that narrow also, i like them bolth.
