View Full Version : How would you rate Husqvarna equipment ?

People seem cautious about this brand and comments usually come from non-users. Own a few hand held units and to be honest they aren't half bad, though not impressive. Also considering a new WB.
Would just like to get an idea on quality of husky equipment both mowers and hand held units, where they stand? Dealer network appears well established and the pricing seems reasonable.
Please note : the brands in the poll are just illustrative for ease of rating, I know everyone would make their own list.

My old 323 hand-held trimmer was 10 years old when it quit, doesn't owe me a thing. Though for 6 years it was a homeowners...

Very tough to answer, because it depends on the product line. Hedge trimmers, excellent, line trimmers, just OK. Their backpacks are actually Redmax, and they are very good. Their power rakes are Bluebirds. Mowers I have no experience with, but I do own all the other equipment I commented on.
They make both commercial and home owner machines, so one must be sure it's a commercial machine they are looking at. The chain saws kick ass.

I have never owned a husquvarna, but I have used my uncles huskquvarna rider. It is a well built mower
I have 2 323 Huskies and both are around 9 years old and still run, used commercial since day one. I also have a 323 stick edger, used commercial since day one and is 7 years old. I have only had to replace fuel filter, plugs, rebuild one carb. Best equipment that i have owned.

for at home i bought a husky bp blower from lowes about 4 years ago
with a kawasaki motor and its excellent . starts first / second pull , runs smooth , solid built unit
and all my tree trimmer friends say huskys number one saw .
i bought a stihl though because they say theyre number two
and i just like its engineering better
ive never ran their whips but almost pulled the trigger one one
for home use after looking them over many times ,
seemed to have redmax motors on them . but i couldnt
purchase because they have these chincy / slippery
hard plastic handles that make holding on to them tricky .
if they had the simple round rubber handles on them like
rmax which allow me perfect control of the whip i woulda bought .
but for work where i whip 100 accounts per week ide never consider
using that hard plastic slippery handle , itd be a struggle holding
onto that thing accurately all day . they should at least checker
the handles for a better grip . though ide just change them to rubber like rmax which has the best grip out there for me

I know nothing of the mower's but love the handhelds, my 150 bt is amazing it has to be my favorite piece of equipment since its usually just 1 pull and it fires up, but i use 93

Well I was hoping for more opinions on the mowers, too bad. They are rare to see, I think I've encountered more Ferrari's than husqvarna mowers.
So far I've owned a chainsaw (great) a hedge trimmer (works good) and recently got a 21" (cuts like crap), oh well got it from a homeowner for $150, I'll just abuse it for brush-hogging as it can be set at 4".

I also have a 323 weed eater and it has been great as far as power to weight and has lasted 4 years for me befor breaking the flywheel. Im satified with the equipment and will purchace again.

My first choice in equipment.
Ordered another 36" hydro walk behind. It'll be here in December.

Not sure if that's supposed to work like that for commercial use equipment, but I did the same thing when I bought my air compressor lol
Which, of course, 2-3 years later hasn't failed.

Husqvarna saws are tempermental and tough to start until they get a few hours on them. Also the carb is finicky and requires fine adjustment by a good tech.
