Here in the deep south, I would price this average sized home that's on 2/3 acre at $45 per servicing for once every two weeks or $40 per servicing for once every week. (Which is the market average for my area.) This includes cut, edge, trim and blow.
In the area that you are from - what would you price it at? Just curious to see how the prices differ in the different areas.
Thanks,
BAMARED

Where I live in WY this would be $70 to $75 a cut, that is weekly. Because I don't cut ten days, or two weeks.
They would have to pick up the toys.
I took the sq. footage, (figuring an acre to be 43,400 sq. ft.) I have a formula worked out, if I know the sq. footage I can figure a price pretty quick. That isn't the only thing I take into consideration tho.

yea, we could get $45.00 around here for that much turf.
Get this. Lady (buyer) moves into an area I service. Seller gives her my card. Buyer calls me, I measure. 42,000 sq. ft of turf. Lots of ornimental crab trees. Beds in need of attention. I call her back and give her a good price. She flips, screams at me and goes off the deep end. She tells me her present guy who is 15 miles away from me already told her (without seeing it) he would do it for $27.00 a week. Who could mow for that? I can't wait to see how long he keeps it and how many of the neighbors want him to mow theirs.

I couldn't tell ya. Out here we don't get 'em much bigger than 1/10 of an acre so I have to price to profit on smaller properties. For example, 2/3 of an acre in my formula would come to:
$744/month for weekly service!
Am I bidding too low? ;)

Well yes brain problems for sure. But in this case BP stands for blood pressure. Nothing worse than pulling up to a job and seeing a mess to pick up first. What's worse is when it happens every week. I bid all lawns to be mow ready and the price is adjusted if I have to spend time getting it ready to mow every week. Once in awhile I don't mind. Sometimes later in the season people strart to forget what day it is and leave things out. Time screams by so fast these days it is hard to remmember what day it is sometimes.
Chronic mess makers should always be charged extra.
