I look in the mirror and our Stihl BR 550 (Backpack Blower)

"Dude stop!!"

I get out, and pulled it out from under the wheel... i was pissed.... Heres the pics...

He super glued it together, and then melted it together, so we can use it tomorrow...

Is that what its called? its what the straps attach to? and the engine and rest of it sits on it?

yep, i busted the bottom strap holder on one corner. i still havent put the new back plate on yet and probably wont untill i tear it up more. i just put a screw threw the strap into the back plate and it wroks fine.

I know no one will believe this, but I had a redmax backpack fall off the open tailgate of my pick up. I was pulling away from my brothers house and BOOM, I feel the hole truck shaking, look in the mirror and see the enclosed bouncing. WTF??? I stop and get out only to see my redmax on the ground. It went under the trailer. Broke the throttle handle, engine cover, and tube eblow. $85 dollars later, and she is still running three years later. I love redmax, just not under my trailers:laugh:

To fix blower: Glue in place with "super glue". Reinforce bond with duct tape (apply like a cast). Finally, apply several layers of epoxy-resin that is labeled for structural repairs. Allow each layer to fully cure before applying the next layer.

why cobbel s**T up when you can spend 45 bucks and be done with it.

makes no sense. don't listen to this crap and just spend the $45 and fix the thing right.

its a nice machine to be cobbeled.

Both of mine cracked from being hung up in the trailer. I went up to the dealer and he told me $45 for a new one. My dealer also has what they call the grave yard for the un fixable stuff and told me if i wanted to snag one off of another blower i could and he would only charge me $20 bucks. Dont feel to bad, i just bought a brand new FS 90 trimmer and i got to use it once before some lady pulled out in front of me. I have my trimmers mounted vertically and when that bi@#$ pulled out in front of me i had to slam on the brakes and my walker slid sideways and bent the shaft on the trimmer. New shaft cost me $68 bucks, not as bad as i thought, but bad enough to piss me off.

Update, we stopped at one of the Stihl Dealers that was near by, and they said $45 and my brother in law was like okay.... But it wasnt in stock, so he ordered it, "Bing, Bing (cash register) Total $56...

Wtf, they were like $11 shipping fee...

So he gave them their money, and i went out to the truck and called our Exmark Dealer, who also sells Sthils, and repairs everything, he couldnt find it, so he called Stihl... He calls me back and says $25 bucks.... I was like sweet we will take one... He said it will be about a week, but its worth the $31 we will save....

FYI- It is a backplate, thanks....

Yeah, well when a 450 hp diesel is pulling the trailer, I dont think even the old echo steel frame blowers would hold up without some sort of damage. Do you even remember those old iron boat anchors:laugh::laugh: I dont care what you use, at least we can all be thankful that modern blowers are better and a LOT lighter.

I know the feeling. Backed up once w/ my p/up on my Stihl 039 chainsaw and cracked the plastic engine shield. It had been snowing and the saw was coated w/ a light layer. Either way it was one of those foolish and careless mistakes that ya just kick yourself in the behind for.
