I have a bank that is about 60 feet wide by about 120 long that is bare. The embankment is full of shale and rock. I am going to put crown vetch in due to the fact that this area will erode easily. In Pennsylvania i believe it takes a couple seasons to really take off am i correct on this? What would be the best method of planting the vetch and should i mix in some rye with it as well? The company just wants cover on this hill.

Roll out some curlex netting, its made of wood shavings, and alight plastic netting, about 1/2" thick, lets enough light through for germination, can be stapled into the hill, to control erosion, takes about 2 years to decompose, by that time, you won't see it, if the vetch is growing good.:waving:
