Well, i have seen these b4, well just pictures... The idea is diffrent.... Well, what do you guys think, anyone here use or own one? Some one here has to have one... If so, lets see pics too...

Heres their selling points..

*Uses a steering wheel and so is easy to use and familiar to drive Stick steer ZTR's takes time to train operators and learn a new way of driving

*Gives full zero turn mowing capability keeping you mowing longer Conventional mowers require 3 point turns slowing operation.

*The rear wheels are always driven Conventional mowers have differentials that transfer drive to the outer wheel reducing traction

*The machine can be turned at full speed Stick steer ZTR's can tear turf at full speed.

*Better control on banks & hillsides because we steer the front wheels Castor front wheels on stick steer ZTR's steer the machine downwards on slopes

*Safer on the road and on trailers ZTR's awkward to control and drive up ramps.

Heres the MSRP:
52" w/27 hp Kohler $9957.00
61" w/27 hp Kohler $9997.00

That is pretty cool.

Cub Cadet has one like that which was reviewed in Turn magazine recently. The reviewer was impressed with it.

Didn't see your post 'till today. I've had a 27/61 for a couple years and am very satisfied with. I'm located in Central Ohio a few miles NW of Marysville. If you're still wanting to check it out sometime let me know - I have an ugly property with zillion trees to mow around so it's a good place to test drive them.

Send a PM with your email and we'll talk.

Thanks man, but i just posted this, because i was intrigued by it... Is it any better than just a regular ZTR?

I love that old Steiger Green color.

I've seen the ZTR's with the steering wheel and wonder how well that would work.

there is a gizmo dealer in our state. he said i could demo one if i wanted. Talked to a cub rep, he said they were not going to waste time demoing thier new s tank to take a loss on it. I told him to f off to his face. I got as red as can be.
the gizmo looks better built and more stable to me. i doubt i would ever have one. price is about 3k cheaper than the cub as well.

We have a dealer here in town, but I have never seen one at the dealership, nor have I ever seen one being used. Interesting idea.

I wouldn't say it's better or worse than a comparably built ZTR. I think it would just be a matter of how the operator prefers to steer. They are incredibly stout, fairly quick, and give a great quality cut. The steering wheel is nice.

The front casters are not just floating - they're linked mechanically to the steering wheel with a chain and sprocket arrangement. As you turn the wheel the inside rear wheel progressively slows and then reverses at full lock giving it it's zero turn capability. The only issue I've had so far was a steering chain that popped off after I hit an unseen and pretty deep hole at full speed. It was simple to reinstall and adjust after I read the manual. No problems since. I attached a water bottle holder to mine and it's great to be able to take a drink as your zipping along, steering with one hand. It also allows those super nice lawn guy waves to potential clients as well as potential dates.

Gizmow's claim of super traction is pretty accurate - I had an incident where I had a race car on a trailer end up stuck in a deep, muddy ditch. (don't ask) The truck I had at the time had an open differential and couldn't get any traction to pull the trailer out. I got a brilliant idea to mount a hitch ball on the front of the Gizmow and see if it would pull the trailer out - it did easily - it was actually pretty amazing and I wish I had pictures.

However, the claim of no turf tearing is a stretch. Mine came with the ag tires and I ended up switching to turf tires because it would tear turf in wet conditions - i think anything will. The turf tires have helped quite a bit with that issue.

One more thing - the pictures of the Gizmows with the fenders and lights are a European version. We don't get all that stuff here.

I also find the color to be beneficial when it comes to visibility. I have a few hundred feet along a state highway and the color stands out nicely. That's reassuring when cars are buzzing by at 60+ mph.

I think the Gizmow is a great machine on par with the best out there. Unfortunately, the companies marketing and dealer network stink. I'm glad I got my hands on one and would buy another.

Yea, i think its a good idea... Like you said, the wheel would be nice, and driving one hand... I have terrible allergies and sneeze alot, and always rub my ever, and its hard to do on the Zero Turn...

I used to be the not too proud owner of a 60" Great Dane. The deck on the Giz looks almost identical to the Dane. Understand Giz used to do contract work for other mfgs. and made the Dane deck. The weak point was in wet conditions the deck would pack clippings on the top of the deck and cut quality would be lousy within 15 mins. How does the Giz do in the wet? Performed well in normal conditions.

I think you're right that Gizmow does (or did) fabrication for several other companies. So far I haven't had any issues with clogging in the wet, but... that's only because I don't mow when it's wet. So I really can't give you an honest opinion on that one.

I think mine was about 7800 a couple years ago. It has a 61' deck with a 27hp Kohler. It sports some bells and whistles that really aren't needed though (cruise, electric lift deck, horn, headlight) I've heard that they've put together a model that doesn't have the fancy bling, but keeps the build quality, for a bit less $$$$. There's no mention of it on they're web site though, which hasn't been updated for a long time, so who knows???
