Well it actually said Mustang on it, but its the same thing.
It was an MTL16 (TL130) at Hodges (same place I took the pics of the TL140)
And I just say this, I can see why Dirtman and everyone else love their Takkies.
That thing was awesome. I could just feel the power in it (something I've only found on CAT) I'm not too crazy about the Pilot control pattern, but I loved it in this one. It has the best joysticks I've ever used.
My only complaint was the drive control was really sensitive and kinda hard too control sometimes at higher rpm. Everything else was great, especially the huge cab. I love the huge cabs, plus the location off the gauges is really nice.
I only tried the Mustang because I thought my uncle was going to also (but then decided not to) and the Mustang had lower hrs than the Takkie TL140 he had there
I also wish I would've taken video :(
If only he would had a pile of dirt or a mud pit to play in
Well looks like Takeuchi has impressed another person with their CTLs :cool2: :) :weightlifter:

So basically you just putted around the lot with it? Not a fair judge of anything, IMO. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

Basically yeah. He didn't really have any dirt to play in but at least I got some seat time.
I did grade some of the gravel in the lot. That was fun :)

I pushed the sh*t out of my little Pussy today, and I think in this hot weather, I'll stick to the Cat, talk about an actual cooling system for the hydraulic oil.

Our takkie has been used wide open in 100 degree heat all day pushing mud and has never over heated?

If you are looking for a Takkie/Mustang/Gehl, KRTraxx has the one(MTL16) I was going to get. Give him a call.

Is it common place for an equipment dealer selling skids not to have a pile of dirt?
Seems the same as a car dealer not having dealer tags.

They do make a solid machine, but I want you to drive that machine across the same lot once the ground freezes there in MI. It will about rattle your guts out. I've actually had guys up here in WI claim the vibration in the joy sticks caused their hands to go numb in the winter.

Plus for turf work CAT/ASV is the way to go. Ron even said the ASV tracks have good snow traction.
I think we might look into them new Gehl articulated loaders. They seem good for us.

yeah I noticed that when I was playing on some cat skid steers the other day, man it was a smoother ride. I like my tak but damn is it loud in the cab and driving on concrete... well it'll make you:hammerhead:
I've got almost 1400hrs on mine, so the cab and windshield does nice loud rattled that kills your ears..... thats why I stick to running the excavators and let the boss man run the skid steer:laugh:

We have a Case 1845C, a John Deere 5310, and a Bobcat 430ZHS.
Next chance I get I'll get some pics. I'll also try and get some job pics (that is if we get another job soon)
Were looking at different equipment because were thinking of trading in our 1845 and 5310 for something that could replace both, but were waiting till things get better.
That is, if they do get better...

Most machines I drive one to Demo.
Occasionally I drive one just for the helluva it.
Some machines on my drive just for the helluva it are a Caterpillar 420E IT, a 924H, and a 140M grader!

Probably not. A new Branson or TYM tractor would be the only exception.
Probably wouldn't buy one of those either. I'm a Deere (tractor) man!

Just a little boy, aren't you? I demo this, I just do this for the Helluv it. We are getting this or that.
I see it like this, You aren't getting anything. Tommorrow you will see a picture, it might be of a paving machine. Then you will start a new post about how "I'm getting a paving machine" Or I went to some junk dealer, drove (Not operated) some skidloader, Give some lame review about your likes and dislikes.
I don't find you entertaining at all.

There are people who can find fault in your posts as well and may think you are not entertaining either.
Does it make you feel good to slam a 15 year old?
Are you that much better than him because you own a skid steer?
Your opinion matters more than his?
It is just a web Forum.
The kid has just as much right to post here as you do.

Just calm down everyone. Maybe the simple solution is to coax the moderators to add a children's forum. They could talk about bikes and video games and the cute chick in science class as well as all the machines they have toys of that are just like Dad's and not clutter up the Grown up talk. Could really be a hit.
By the way, where is Jr.? Off at summer camp roughing it w/o a laptop? Haven't seen him post recently.....
I agree 100%. I read just about every thread on here but post rarely because of all the arguing and stupid coments. I find HEF a much more "adult" oriented site for real equipment operators, not people who rent or dream of equipment they want to own but most likely never will.

The reality is most people who cast stones need not.
Everyone needs to look in the mirror and really study your past.
I enjoy having the young guys around because of there enthusiasm alone.
I look at the pics of work of these hotshots on here and am absolutely amazed at what they are doing and getting away with and then they pound on there chest and belittle the young guns.
Life is about dreams and aspirations and I would much rather help guys like that then guys represented in the previous 3 posts.
Have a great night.

Dude, lighten up and don't take yourself so seriously. I think these kids can handle a little ribbing. And beyond that, why should they be exempt from the same level of criticism everyone else is subject to if somebody doesn't like or agree with what is said?

Oh really? So you didnt start out renting or dreaming of equipment? so you just woke up one day with machines setting at a shop with work lined up? Cause if you did, tell me your secret, until then, let the little guys(like me) dream and try to build there companies.
if you like HEF so much, go there and read every thread there, then wait 2 months for someone to post something.

I sure did.. ;)
and I agree with the part after the bold, no one was ever easy on me because of my age, atleast I hope not, why should they change? This business isnt an easy one, if you cant stand the little bit of heat from an online forum, you better not get engaged into conversation with another excavation company..

There ain't no money in renting equipment to do the job, buy what you need now so that you can actually start making money.

You can't keep renting fancy equipment just for the "coolness" factor, even the most humble brush clearing contractors started out with an old Ford 8N and bush hog, then after they got their name established and the contracts did they start buying new equipment.
Even if you just bought a hum drum 773 Bobcat and a bush hog, you're still on the right track, you can always add tracks later on, get your foot in the door and start small.

I am not renting for the coolness factor, I am renting because thats where I've got an account and no one else even comes close to the service they give me. Plus, they rent just about everything I need. Btw, I didnt get the T300 by choice on that last job, I asked for the T190, but it wasnt in at the time and it was the only tracked machine he had, thats why I ended up with such a large machine but in the end I am glad I did because I was able to move a lot whole trees instead of just a couple at a time.
And thats what I am trying to do, but with no work, why buy a machine or buy a tractor? right now I am trying to establish my name and get through all the paper work and BS to make this company name for real and once things pick up, I'll get something, even if it is just an 8n like you said. In fact I just looked at buying an almost new 6ft bush hog, I wouldnt have a tractor to run it, but it was one hell of a deal that I passed up for one reason, no work right now because of the s#itty economy.

Thank you Junior.
I can handle thing just as well as Junior or anyone else.
I am the envy of my friends as I'm practically the only with a job.
And have things been easy? No! Do know know how many times I've been laughed at or not taken seriously, just because of my age? It hasn't been easy at all. It can be very stressful.
And the economy screwed us to hell. I talked to my dad and he says he might sell the 5310 to cut costs and we do not even need that size of machine anymore, it gotten to big. He's also thinking of selling the 430! I thought this year it would be better. I was wrong as hell...
And dreaming? You have to be kidding. We were thinking of getting another skid to replace the 1845 and the 5310 as I thought things were going to be better. But it looks like we'll have to hold off on a new machine. Now were just trying different stuff. No point in buying if there no work
So lets move on here, I've been through something like this before.
Lets talk about what I joined for, equipment.
