What fluid in a 220D hydrostatic drive system

I recently picked up one of these machines. It is a 1988 model and has a 62 inch deck. Thanks for your input.

The original GM 220-D hydraulic system was filled with approx. 5 qts. of 10w-30 engine oil. A good detergent 10w-30 is an acceptable replacement fluid. In cold weather, 5w-20 or 5w-30 can be used.

Thanks for the info. I'm loving that old machine, it is very comfortable and cuts great, sips the fuel too.
