I have an oppertunity to purchase a 1980 Int. 2155. It has a cat 3208 motor and a 5spd trans. About 160k on it. I dont know if the odometer works. I would assume it does.
I know its an older truck, and it may have problems, but I wont be running it every day. It will mostly be to help out with material delivery to job sites, and hauling debris etc.
I wouldnt use it every day, but when when the need arises that I could use a larger truck, It would be handy.
Its at a right price at about 5k, tires are good. I'd say 80% it has had a new rad,new injection pump and a new fuel tank.
I dont do a lot of excavation/dirt work, but I do do some and if I had a decent truck to do so, I probably would.
My thought is if I can pick up the truck for a good price, and use it as need be, I dont think it would be hard to make my money back.
Going to check tomorrow on insurance. I think that will be my final decision maker.
Thoughts? On the actual truck/the situation?
