Hi I need help with putting down stone. The measurements are as follows: 28 ft long, 3 ft wide, and about 2 inches deep. Each bag of rock gives you 6 sq ft of coverage. Can someone give me a formula or something on how to come up with how many bags of rocks I need? It would be very appreciated!

the area of 28' x 3' x 2" comes to 14 cubic feet.

the measurement you gave for a bag or rock is in square feet. figure out how many cubic feet your bag gives you by multiplying your sq ft by your thickness in feet.

also remember to take into account your compaction rate based on the traffic of the area and the type of stone you're using.
