Just an FYI, this is an excerpt from the Cornell Branching Out, Volume 16 No. 9 Newsletter

Emerald Ash Borer Insecticide Options
Dan Gilrein, Extension Entomologist
We owe thanks to the authors of the newest edition of the publication,
Insecticide Options for Protecting Ash Trees from Emerald Ash
Borer (http://www.emeraldashborer.info/). We should note that not
all the insecticide information listed is applicable to New York,
specifically: Tree-Age is not approved for use and Safari can only
be used indoors in NY State. Only certain Tempo materials (these
are landscape-use only) are labeled for emerald ash borer adults on
foliage, including Tempo 20WP (EPA# 432-1302) with
supplemental label, Tempo 20WB Golf Course (432-1338), Tempo
SC Ultra Insecticide (432-1363), Tempo Ultra GC (432-2452), and
Tempo Ultra WSP (432-1377). Sevin SL labeling does not currently
include uses as a bark or foliage spray for EAB. Always read labels
to be sure sites and uses are listed; applicators in other states should
check approved labels and local guidelines in their area.”

EAB Quarantine in NY
Speaking of EAB… On July 24 the NY State DEC announced the emergency
quarantine for Cattaraugus and Chataqua Counties for Emerald Ash Borer.
The quarantine order prohibits the movement of ash both within the two
counties and beyond, and applies to:

Any size of ash lumber, logs and trees,
including leaves, bark, stumps, limbs,
branches and roots

Any item made from or containing ash wood

Wood chips and bark mulch larger than an inch, as well as
firewood of any species. Even though the beetles attack only ash
trees, it’s hard to differentiate between ash and other hardwoods
once it is split.

First it was DED!
