I can't seem to find what the blade tip speed for the Fastrak. I know for the commercial Hustlers this information is posted and is easily found which is 18,000 +. What about the Fastrak?

Artman...

This summer you are coming out with the Mini Z and the Mini Super Z. Will the blade speeds be up in the 18,000 range or similiar to the Fastrak at around 15,000? This is for the 52" deck

The Hustler Mini Z™ and the Super Mini Z™ will feature much faster blade tip speeds. (Since the FasTrak was designed for the homeowner and its top speed is only 7 mph, blade tip speeds were set lower for safety reasons and at those speeds, the FasTrak decks give an excellent cut and finished appearance).

Mini Z Blade Tip Speeds:

44 - 16,100 fpm
52 - 18,300 fpm

By the way, top speed of the Super Mini Z is 13 mph. Also, since compact size is the main attraction for the "mini"-class machines, it is noteworthy that both the 44" and 52" deck units of both the Hustler Mini Z and Super Mini Z are 72" long - the shortest minis on the market.

We have two prototypes running now. Things are looking like another Hustler Z home-run. Production is scheduled for July.

This was the response on an earlier post as to the tip speed of the Hustler Fastrack. This information jive with a response I was given by Hustler's Brian Nebel via email (prior to my learning abou this user forum!).

HOWEVER..I was told over the phone by a Hustler rep that the blade speed was 17,365 for the 20/52 fastrack.

Can someone please clarify for me once and for all. I can't believe that the fastrack tip speed would be that much slower than the Toro TimecutterZ (quoted to my by Toro as being well over 17,000 FPM at 3400 rpm).

Thanks,

John

The info quoted here and by Brian would be the correct info.
I am not sure of the Toro info you have, it seems a little high for a consumer mower.
They may turn them faster to get the cutting quality where it needs to be on there unit.
The FasTrak cut quality is second to none, even if it has a lower tip speed.

Hope ths helps
