Has anyone ever removed the oil filter from a horizontal engine and had it to run properly? The oil filter is in the way, when operating the machine and I don't want to spend a hundred bucks for a kit that will allow me to move it. I would rather do away with it all together.

About your filterproblem B&S makes a filter about half as tall as the full size. Maybe this will give some extra room, good luck..
