Hustler leaving partial brown stripe

I have a Super Mini Z 23 HP Kawasaki 44" mower that appears to leave a brown stripe when mowing certain grasses. I have read of some models burning the grass and in need of a heat shield. Could I be having the same issue. The serial no. is #06041048.

Did it just start doing this?
Are the brown stripes in a line? or just in spots where you stop? like to move stuff?
How many hours are on the mower? the serial # indicates its just over 3 years old.
