I have a 42" Mini Fastrak with the 16HP Honda GXV530 engine. I went to pick up an oil filter and the dealer gave me a Honda 15400-PLM-A01PE. When I went to change it, I noticed the filter on the engine is different. It is about the same diameter but is about 3/4" longer. I'm sure it will screw on the same but I don't know if the pressure rating and relief valve are the same. I think I need a 15410-MFJ-D01 but the dealer said the one they sold me is the right one. Is it OK to use the PLM instead of the MFJ version? I think the one they sold me is for a 18-20HP Honda and not the 16.

Yes it is fine, this happens all the time, they put certain filters on them in Japan but the filters supplied to the dealers in the US are different for some reason, if he is a Honda dealer then he has you covered.

Pj,
Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear the dealer I was referencing was the Hustler dealer and not a Honda engine dealer if that matters.
