I have a BR 320 that is about 8 yrs old, but is only used on the weekends and maybe a little bit more during the fall.

Recently, the spark plug wire became corroded. I decided to change the whole electrical part. I changed that, then took off the muffler to make sure that the port was not clogged ( just in case). After I assembled the unit and got it started a hear a noise coming from the engine. A few seconds later it stalled. I tool the spark plug out and took off the muffler again to make sure everything was ok. I blew the port out and then tried to start it. It ran ok, but there is a sound still coming from the engine. It is kind of a whining sound, hard to explain.

What might it be? Possibly some dirt/carbon in the piston area?

When you say you changed the whole electrical part, do you mean the ignition coil? If so did you gap the coil correctly from the flywheel? Maybe the coil and flywheel are rubbing creating the noise your hearing. You can use a business card to set the air gap.

I think that might have been it! I will be trying it out tomorrow. Thanks for the information, I never had to replace that part before.

Gap it at .010 or just use a business card.
