What are some ways you guys are jacking up the mower to change out blades and to do other maintenance. I've seen those "dolly's" that people are using but isn't there any easier way to lift it up rather than buy a $500 dolly.

Did you try the site Dttach.com, it has a maintenance jack that may work for you. They also have other products for commercial mowers.
thanks ARTIE D

Just go to any landfill,find four 8-10ft long pipes/round steel & weld up,put in angle iron every 3-6 inches for tires to ride up in,weld in some heavy duty nail-like spikes (3-4 per ramp)on ground end to step into dirt,OR, just use a strap to fasten to hitch)(so when driving up,it don't slide)put onto truck tail gate,drive mower up about 2-4ft for all these kinds of projects.

Built this back in 1980 for here at home, With a 2 ton comalong I stand Z's on the rear bumper;

Bought one of these and fabbed up a dolly, Mounted it on a "I" beam across the rafters at the shop. It too will set them on the rear bumper, I cought it on sale for $79.95 so ended up with about $130.00 investment with the "I" beam and dolly materials.....

And yes, I use two safety straps when I raise them that high...... :)

Drive it up the trailer ramp...swap and clean one side...move to other side of trailer and finish other side. takes me 20 minutes to scrape deck and change blades.

I put a ramp off the tail gate of my truck, run one side up the ramp, put the parking brake on, then chock off the rear wheels.

floor jack.

Got a winner......just keep it somple.... All those fancy special tools for raising the mower can't be used to change tires and hydro belts and stuff like that.

Hmmm.......

The above is EXACTLY what I built mine for and more !!!

Once I installed the winch I built my roll around stool. I'm not crawling around on the floor/ground all day..... :nono:

The sweetest part about this set-up..... No floor jack and stands in the way of trying to work. :)

IT wasn't 500.00 but it was 350.00 i bought a mojack. i bought the middle series. Works great! if i was you i would just look up the website for the mojack video and once you see it you could build one yourself. Square tubing, a few nuts and bolts and a braking winch. I thought about making my own, but i am not that great of a welder.
