HELP!!! Thought I did all the right things after being sick of my weed front yard.. cannot afford to sod.. 2880 sq ft.. I roundup-ed the yard twice a week apart.. rented a core aerator.. Then had a soil test done and added the lime I needed.. then seeded with a slit seeder.. fertilized with starter.. grass came up great but the seeder was a little unevern so I reseeded some areas.. Watered 3 times a day then after it came up backed down on the watering so the roots would go deeper.. been watering and mowing short..Have applied the fertilizer as recommended by the soil test.. Now after all that time..expense.. effort and back breaking work I have a yard full of dallasgrass..crab grass.. some weird weed that looks like light colored mondo grass.. I am so ticked.. Any ideas? I got mad today and went out with image and sprayed the heck out of the darn weeds.. but they are taking over and the grass looks like it is dying.. What the hell else could I have done??
Thanks

I'm not sure about warm-season grasses, but it's a general rule of thumb to mow your lawn at least 4 times before spraying.

I have some sort of warm-season grass in my yard, and the application rate or mix rate for chemicals is different between cool season grasses and warm season.

So, when I mix for cool season grasses, it actually is a heavier mix than what is suggested for warm-season grasses. When I apply I notice my weedy grass takes a hit.

If I were you, accept the weeds until you can get the lawn established.
