Ferris 27hp starter??

Starter clicks when I turn the key. Battery is fine. Sometimes the starter will engage if I bump the key on/off a few times. Is the starter toast, or maybe the seloniod is bad..(if thats what the thing attached to the starter is)...lol:usflag:

Sometimes a good cleaning (blown out with compressed air) and lubing of the starter shaft/bushings solves this problem, If it still continues after cleaning then suspect the solenoid is failing.

thanks for the tip...ill try that this weekend...So the thing attached to the starter is the seloniod? Can that part be changed, or is the starter/seloniod sold as a pair only............:usflag:

They can be replaced separately.
