I have a Deere 320 skid steer and am looking into adding a Deere 332 CTL. I have had good luck so far with the 320 no problems in 1500 Hrs. Was hoping to hear the good and bad from some owners/ operators.

As an actual Deere owner (not a non owning hater) here are my opinions. I have a CT322 and have over a 100 recent hours in a CT332. I have been really happy with my machine so far. I have 650 hours on it. I have no reason to look at any other brand this fall while I am looking into a wheeled skid. But...Make sure you demo both the 322 and the 332. I feel (and many others) that the 332 is a beast but not as smooth and user friendly as the 322. It is hard to explain but everybody that has run mine against the larger one thinks it is definately more of a finesse machine. The negatives I have are the cab is small and they are a little noisier inside then I think they should be. Don't listen to the guys that make it seem impossibly small, my foreman is 6'3" and 330 pounds and fits fine and feels comfortable inside.

i also own a deere 332. And this is my odd analogy of how i see it. The deere is a big dumb meat head body builder, its just a muscle bound brute looking for something to explode on, it enjoys working its a$$ of all day, it wants to move lots of dirt, lots of rock and huge trees. Thats what it enjoys. The harder you work it the happier it is. It does not care about a smooth ride or a pressurized cab, those things are what the metro-sexual caterpillar cares about. the cat would rather do little finesse work with it delicate and precise controls, it wakes up and makes sure its hair is just right and the shoe laces tied straight before it wants to get started. Its a more sensitive one, more in touch with its surroundings.

Not a dumb idea if you're willing to chance what pricing will come in at. Although, I'd guess there will be some 332's around after D pricing is released. Sounds like there will be 5 sizes instead of 3, so more options if you don't necessarily need a 332 class machine, but also, the big horse will be a 333 if you do want the biggest/baddest.....

When I was at the JD dealer in Sandusky, Monday, he said the D series will be released in a week. I'm not sure how true that is, seeing how when I asked about the improvements he said "Bigger pumps, thats about it" so I'm not sure if this guy knew what he was talking about or what.
I they also had a cabbed 325 I climbed in. It's really not that bad getting in and out.
I can't say about head room and the likes because the door was locked in up and I couldn't get it to come down. Odd.

I'm going to guess that list price will take a jump. If you're getting a way more modern cab, plus a bunch of other upgrades, that has to have a cost associated with it. However, I'd guess they'll have pretty good programs/rebates for a while on them in light of the slow sales in the industry and to try to make a big push with owners of Cat and BC.

Your dealer is either misinformed or didn't want to share too much too soon. My rep is as giddy as a schoolgirl about these things, so I know the changes are more than just bigger pumps. The pics I've seen have me excited, too. Can't wait to see one in person.
Dealers will be trained on the updates soon. Press release will likely come soon after. You won't see them at your dealer for a while, as we are not yet able to place orders. I will share more when I have the official word.
The door does not lock in the up position. Grab those 2 handles on the sides and pull down and forward, then push it all the way shut. It might seem awkward at first, but it's really quite easy.

Official word huh
Were having our new D series orientation in about a week. So we'll learn more about the product, order codes, package options and new changes to the machine themselves.
Poor ole Ron won't be able to beitch about the tiny cab no more though, he'll have to find something else and I'm confident he will.
We've been installing the SIMS cab door on new units sold for customers who want the larger opening. This door seals up better and no rattles like the OEM overhead door.

There has been so much talk on here anyway about these D-series loaders...they better live up to all the hype. They sure have a lot of people looking for big things out of this lineup.
How soon before Deere makes an announcement on them, if the dealers are getting prepped for their release soon? Any time frame more concrete than later this year yet?

I don't think it's any secret. I heard last winter from the salesman I deal with who had been to a meeting at Deere what the new CT's would be. Not sure if these are all exactly right, but I believe it was close to CT315, CT319D, CT323D?, CT329D? and CT333D. Not really sure on the middle ones anymore, but I'm pretty sure on the 315, 319, and 333, and I know there was 2 in between. Those numbers should mean something because they don't have an "M" at the end.
Curious to see specs on the 319. There's a lot of machines in that class sold and a real performer could put the hurt on T190 sales if it's a good balance of power and compact size.

Those numbers are correct, unless Deere has changed them since I last heard about it. The 333D will be the big dog--a little more lift capacity than the CT332, but the big improvement (besides the cab) will be a significant jump in horsepower. Can't wait to see that thing move dirt.
I'm excited about the 319. Hopefully it will be narrower and more price competitive with the 190-class machines than the current 322.
