How much would you charge to plant 12 1 gal boxwoods at a location 850 miles away? Buy locally, transport 850 miles, install, and go.

I wouldn't accept the job. I'd do the ethical thing by suggesting the client hire a local contractor (or do it themselves).

12 1 gal. boxwoods... 850 miles... That's ridiculous! :hammerhead:

The client prefers local material to material found near the site.

Well, I must say this thread should elicit much comment. What's so special about the local boxwoods? Are they grown locally or just being sold locally?
Is this client a whack-job or what? As for the job, if it pays enough, why not?
For the right price I would drive 1000 miles to plant ONE small boxwood.

I want to know more about why you feel obligated to travel 850 miles.

I have a feeling it's a relative.:hammerhead:

Is your work that spectacular enough ?? Not saying it isn't, but why does this guy want you to travel this far.

1700 miles round trip times the going rate per mile (around $0.45 maybe)
About 28 hours behind the wheel times at least $40 per hour
$50 per plant if there is no bed prep needed
