It's pretty late around here for this pest. Are you sure that's what it is?
Hot pepper wax works well on Jap Beetles.

Pest ID is critical before treatment. Google soybean pests.

I should mention that the Japanese Beetle life-cycle timing is way off here in Ohio. Degree days all messed up. I'm not sure who is more confused, we landscapers or the insects.

I am hearing that from all over the country, especially the north east. I personally have only seen 2 or 3 Jap beetles this year, they usually are thick in june and July. Not this year
Our essential-1 product will knock them down almost immediately, just be careful when spraying over 80 degrees, it will spot the leaf whereever it lands
The mix of essential oils basically suffocates them
1 gallon treats 1 acre, it is made from all EPA 25b exempt products and is used in organic farming. It is very safe to use, the pepper oil (capsaicin) will sting your eyes so use goggles
