I want to rid my lawn of perennial rye and keep my blue grass. Will it work and what do I need to know about this specific product?

ive used this stuff a ton on fescue clumps in bermuda/zoysia. this stuff is amazing,also treats various broadleaf weeds as well. just make sure to mix correctly and mow 24 hrs after applcation for best results. hope this helps

What does the mowing after application do?

Mowing forces the weed to grow. The weed (in this case Fescue) needs to be actively growing to effectively take in the weed control and die.
