View Full Version : Mini-Z 36" - Wheel Tearing?

My left drive wheel is ripping apart from the lugs on my Mini-Z.
I noticed this weekend when I was checking out my hydros.

When I got this Mini-z I knew it had mis-matched wheels (photo).
Pretty sure the previous owner just abused the hell out of this unit...

I think the one that's torn up is the stock Hustler wheel? (pressed pattern)
PJ could you confirm this for me?

Any problems with using a 10X7 non-stock wheel?
Has Hustler ever used a smooth style for the Mini's?

I've got a replacement wheel that should be coming in today from the dealer.

Anyone have any ideas what could cause this?
The spacers are in place on the hub.
Lugs were not loose...

Thanks!

The rim you have posted a pic with the crack is a bad rim and we replace them at no charge under warranty.
The other rim you have posted looks like the replacement rim.
You should have part # 600718 on order, the part # never changed it was a running change in parts and production.
Also, when using the new style rim you need to discard the rim spacers behind the rim.

PJ,

Thanks for the quick reply and the note about the spacers.
I already picked up the replacement rim from the dealer.
It looks just like the smooth welled one :)

I imagine I am out of warranty since this machine is 3+ old?
Thanks again for the quick reply and updated info!

Hi PJ,

First thing

A HUGE thank you must go out to Hewlett Equipment who has been looking after me with all my Hustler bits and pieces. Until we get the problem sorted with the drive, they overnight freighted from Brisbane to Newcastle (a 12hr drive for those that don"t know) a shaft out of a hydro with a cracked case so I could come pick it up (so now hopefully I can be back on deck with it tomorrow). I have taken some pictures of the two shafts, and as they say " a picture tells a thousand words."

Cheers
Matt

Good, it sounds like you have both the updated rims now.
Yes it is no longer in the warranty period, the original owner had a 2 year warranty on your unit in commercial use applications.
