We are re-landscaping a garden in our front yard and we put landscaping fabric down. We got some stuff that was heavy duty 20 year commercial use. We got this instead of the 5,10, or 15 year stuff cause we wanted to make sure we wouldn't have a weed issue. ANYWAY, we watered the flowers and noticed water was beading up on the fabric and even puddled up in a few places. This obviously has me a little worried because if it's not soaking through, the flowers aren't going to get enough wate and we will be dealing with puddles in low spots. My question is, will water soak through this stuff after it has been down a while????

Don't know about that part of it, but there are a lot of people on here that don't even look at that weed blocker stuff. Nothing but complaints from people who have had it put in with weeds stilll coming through. I have used it a few times because the customer wanted it. I told them the weeds will come up, they did not believe me though. Sure enough, 2 months later here they come. I would have used Preen instead of the fabric. The preen is in a big bottle that are granules. A lot of the weeds will germenate in the mulch if you have any and the roots will penetrate into the block. The granules will keep new weeds form sprouting at all.

We aren't using mulch over the top of it, instead we are putting trap rock down. Didn't want to mess with re mulching wanted a more maintenance free option. The weed barrier is already down so unless water penetration is going to be a problem it's going to stay down. Will preen kill the flowers in the bed??

No, Preen will not kill the flowers, BUT, do not hold me against that. HD and Lowes sells it, I think it is around 16 bucks a jug. I would read the directions, but I doubt it will harm any flowers or shrubs. It will keep new weeds from germenating but will not kill weeeds that are have already started to grow.
