I have asked my dealer and few others and cant find a class I could go too or send someone that would teach how to work on commercial mowers such as gravely. I know there is classes for the mechanics that work for the dealers but for some reason the public cant go so I need to find some that the public could go.
Any info. would be very helpful and thank you!

a better investment mightbe taking some classes at a local community college for hydraulics, small engines and a basic maintenance class. This will give them general knowledge to repair or attempt to repair more than just one machine.

Check with your local high schools, They may have something in adult night classes. Also check with your community collages......
If one is mechanically inclined a service manual and good set of tools is about all that's needed. No class can teach all the tricks of the trade, They must be learned hands on with trial and error.....

Best thing I ever did was to lose the gravely, buy a Dixie Chopper, and I haven't had to fix anything except belts, since then!:laugh::waving:

Since we dropped Gravely and took on DC's I feel like the Maytag repair man ! :clapping:

My advice, fix what you can and bring it to the dealer for the rest. We have lcos that have "mechanics" that cost them more time and money that it would for the repair. The just throw parts at the machine and hope it will work. Most classes you take will only teach you out of a book. A book cannot teach you how to fix things, thats why I got kicked out of my small gas engine class in my freshman year in highschool. Book told the teacher that a surging problem was from the governor and I argued that it just needed the carb cleaned. When I proved him wrong he was very pod and kicked me out of the class for the day. The only way to learn in this business is to figure it out yourself. Like my grandpa used to say about college kids "they are just a bunch of educated jack*****"
