I have a 48" Fastrak Model # 928275. I planed on using my mower for removing snow in the winter. I also need better traction for cutting slopes. I was informed when i bought the mower i could install chains for traction. I purchased and installed the chains but there is not enough clearance to the frame. Is there any sort of spacer to place between the wheel and hub for added clearance? Or possibly different tires for better traction.

At one time on the previous style / model FasTraks we offered a spacer I believe when using tire chains, I dont believe we offer it anymore or for the current version of the FasTrak.
You could install bar tread style tires.
How steep are the slopes? I would be more concerned about safety.

I don't think the slope is not more than this mower should be able to handle Probably about 15 deg. Where i cut the grass always stays damp and slick. While descending the slope i leave marks where i tear up the grass. The dealer (Midwest Motor Sports, Inc.Kieler, WI ) i bought the mower from assured me i would be able to install chains for extra traction. I have researched different tires but cant find the right size. Please help, this is a great mower except for the traction issue i am having.

Can the slope be mowed when its dry? again I am more concerned with safety.

Good question it does stay damp though not much sun and under trees. I still will have an issue with traction when i try to use the mower to move snow. as stated i was assured by the dealer it would be able to handle chains and a plow to move snow. I am very satisfied with the mower over all. This mower just may not be the correct mower for my application if it will not operate as advertised. If chains will not work afterall is ther a different tire i could try? I have looked for a tire in the size 18X8.5-8 but am unable to find any the closest i find is 18X9.5-8 Carlisle Super Lug.
