Ground prep to sow seed

I was wondering how many of you lawn installers use a rock hound or some other piece of equipment? Presently we are running into a bunch of yards that have massive rock problems.

I know the best is to bring in topsoil and spread over but this get into big money. A single axle load of topsoil is costing $75.00 and a tandum axle start at $125.00.

I have looked some attachmnets for my TC33 to till and bury at one pass. Do things work

You only pay $125.oo a tandem load ? Prices in my area are 18.50 - 20.00 a yard of screened top soil . 20 yards on a tandam

"Big money" is a relative term. I use a Harley rake to get the rocks out.

This is just for a load of dirt dug up out of the ground, No screening or tilling. Just dirt rocks and alot of unwanted seeds.

The biggest problem is with the contractors and excuvators. They will push building site clean and back fill with anything they can find. Rock or gravel from the concrete drive. So that is the big problem.
