First off, thank you for any input you may be able to provide. Also, I've read a lot of reviews on wide-area walks and hope to be specific in my questions.
My lawn takes me 1 hour with my 21" Honda HRX. Love the mower, but feel like I can be more efficient. I'm currently tracking on Craigslist a Gravely 1034 WAW and a Sutech Stealth. Each has a $950 asking price. Both owners claim low hours. Each has been Craigslist for over a month and I was going to try and offer $600-$700 to see if they'd sell them at the end-of-the-season.
I would like to try and buy one of these, however, I have a hill in my front lawn and I fear that with no individual power to the wheels I'm going to be muscling these things and learn to hate them quickly.
The other option I saw at a local power equipment store is a WorldLawn 33" which sells for $1,600. This machine has individual power controls for each wheel so I could actually steer it on the hills which may be a more forgiving machine. It's a belt drive, hence the low cost.
Since I'm only cutting my lawn, the higher end models are just too much money. Also, anything that's on Craigslist from a commercial outfit is usually on its last leg.
Can anyone give me some advice as to whether I should take a chance on the Gravely or Sutech or hold firm on a machine that has power controls such as the WorldLawn so my mowing is more effortless.
Thanks so much for your help.
