What would ou guys pay for a newer model Lawnboy? Don't know exact year but it is brand new looking and barely used. It is the 21" cut and 6.5 hp motor. It is the SilverPro series. Don't know much at all about these mowers, but have heard they are good. Is $150 a good price? How much are they brand new?

That was the mower I saw. Are you selling it?

No, MJ, it's not mine. If it's a two stroke and in as good of shape as it appears I'd give $150 for it but I'm not in the market for a 2cycle. A neighbor killed my favorite Snapper push mulcher Saturday so I'd like to have the free one offered near the end of todays listings, lol.

ps..I'm in Ftn.City, which part of town are you in?

I was too late I guess. The add was removed and I didn't get a reply from the e-mail. Looks like the Lawn-Boy was removed too, did you get it?

I think that price is to high. Only because those were not the good lb mowers. Those had problems with the plastic carbs and were a cheap motor. I would look for an early 90's with the 4.75 hp on it. Trust me it will go though any leave pile and any grass. I had one it was great. Good luck

I haven't even contacted the guy. I have just heard good things on here about the 2-stroke lb's. I was going to call and offer him $125.00. If he agreed I would go pick it up tomorrow.

Lawn boy 2 stokes are great motors. But the style of that one is a duraforce motor. Look up all the problems. That people have had with them. I would offer him 75. Duraforce motors had problems surging, hard starting and eating up carbs. Trust me i owned one. When it was getting bad it would take like 20-25 pulls to start it hot or cold. The good Lawn boy 2 strokes was when the exhaust was under the motor.

Just my opinion good luck with it.

Ditto what Ben's said with regard to the DuraForce engines (which, BTW are 2 stroke engines too). I can identify with every problem noted. And, I formerly used LB "F" series mowers (muffler underneath). They were spectacular engines, just as good as the DuraForce engines were bad -- real extremes.

Do a search with my name and DuraForce and you will get several threads. One has pics of a shortblock replacement (three shortblocks in four seasons). If you are intending to use heavily, and it is DuraForce engine, leave it alone, IMO.

the 2 stroke lb will run forever and weighs nothing. Doesnt matter if you pay 100 or 250.
