stihl and shindaiwa make them too. Stihl used to have them in the catalog 6 or so years ago. and shindaiwa's are only available in other countries. Probably osha regs or something. It would be more comfortable to wear the trimmer on your back I guess, but the whole unit is a lot heavier than a 40cc regular brush cutter. The regular stihl FS 250 (40cc) weighs 13.2 lbs, that solo weighs 20 or so. I also worry about the reliability of the flew mechanism

Solo trimmers and brushcutters have always been a lot heavier than other brands. The backpack brushcutter is designed for
cutting on steep ground. Probably too much power for normal
trimming as well.
