View Full Version : steps with 12-inch(+) risers!

I was bored so I was surfing the web. Came across this pic from N.Y.

Ok, I don't know the dimensions of the block used, but I'm sure the block is 6-inch block with a 3-inch cap?

So that makes the risers 12-inches??

Correct me if I'm wrong.......

blocks look pretty small too me. i would think 4" thick, making for 8" risers. nonetheless, the stair rise is the least of my concerns with that photo...

I think it is 4", if you compare it to the size of the shovel. Still ugly, though.

agreed it looks like 4" blocks. Didnt you guys know that NY clay makes a perfect building material. The contractor wanted to give back to mother nature by re-using as much on site material as possible.

I don't see any hints of there being a drainage chimney! And the other pics show a heck of a hill behind the wall!!

I noticed that. I wonder if these steps are going to continue up the hill?
IMO this block is way to small for a wall like that in the first place.

yep, it's 4" (usually known as garden block)!
