some nasty boogers

here are some nasty ones from this week...

MY FAVORITE!! 14 ga wire twisted together, taped and then burried! Every time I find that $hit I want to punch whoever did it in the face.

We have a huge property that we have maintained for close to 25 years now and it was all installed that way. I've personally been chasing taped splices like that on this job for about 15 years. There are close to 96 valves on the site so you can imagine the fun. I've found directional changes in the wiring path where we have a bundle of 24 wires all taped and burried. It's all good until the copper corodes and it all starts shorting out or just breaks altogether. :hammerhead:

Those taped splices were at an HOA, the pipe break at a business office place.

taped wire deals caused 3 valves not to pop on, others had no wire nuts and stuck into soil. no wonder the "earth ground". had been working for the past 1.5 years ive had the account until the past few weeks.

ValleyCrest special I guess? I now use the DBY dry wire nut deals with grease tubes.

Haha, I agree. He looks like an alien. But in his defense, no customers call his phone, only the office or other techs. Its nice to be able to get ahold of a co-worker when you need to. Usually hands are too muddy to grab the phone out of the pocket.
