ALLIANCE (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/) is excited to announce that both of its Down Lights (DL100 (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/dl100.html) and DL200 (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/dl200.html)) now include a 10,000-hour, MR16 Halogen Lamp. The extended hour lamp will require fewer replacements in those difficult down lighting applications including trees and under eaves. The ALLIANCE (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/) Down Lights are made of solid brass and include a pre-stripped 25-foot wire lead, mount-ready bracket with stainless steel screws, thumbscrew on the shroud for adjustment and stability, and the lamp is installed for quick installation. The DL100 (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/dl100.html) comes with a 6-inch shroud and is deal for down lighting from a single story level. The DL200 (http://www.allianceoutdoorlighting.com/dl200.html) comes with a 7.75-inch shroud and is ideal for down lighting from 10 feet or more.

Is this included lamp the Ushio Ultraline 10,000 hour MR16? If so you may have a big issue on your hands as these lamps are known far and wide to not provide anywhere near their life rating in real world applications.

I switched to Ushio Ultraline's in 2007 and spend the better part of 2008 replacing them all at no charge to my clients. Most failed after only 700 to 1000 hours of operation. Ushio failed to report back as to what happened, and replaced a few of them with more ultralines, which I still have on my shelf. No explanation as to why these are failing early but I am not the only one who will not use them. The issue is widely acknowledged in the industry.

James,

Thank you for your interest. We do not use USHIO lamps, and I was not aware of those problems. Our 10,000-hour lamp is from Sylvania, which has had an excellent track record.

Thanks for you inquiries.
