I have a guy who is mowing for me as I am a teacher and my mowing is very part time.

Here's the rub: Can I keep him part time and grow my business and not have to pay his unemployment and not have to make him an official employee? Not sure if anyone else deals with this or how to deal with it. Thanks for any help you can provide in this matter.

being a teacher you should knwo to do your own research.

you will simply have to check YOUR STATE LAWS....

yeah - how dare you do your research here from people in the biz already (note the sarcasm) - he's part right though - you need to check your area laws and tax folks. You can have "seasonal" employees up to a certain amount but check to be sure.

bohiaa - this is where people come to research stuff - it's a discussion board.
