I am in S.E. Mass. and want to seed a shaded area I have cleared. It will get some dappled sunlight, but little direct sun. Is there a type of grass that will do well? Haven't had soil tested, but know it to be high acid. Thanks, Brian

Not to get on your case but with 8 years in the business I want to set this straight,
so that no matter what happens or who tells you what, at least you know this:
In my experience, there does not exist any type of grass that does well in the shade.
No sir, I am very sorry, I don't care what anyone claims, I have grown grass in
the woods too but what I am saying is that it didn't just spring up into some
lush lawn like lalala either.
Only meticulous, constant care and attention will resolve the problem, and it is temporary, always.
It can get tedious, but it is labor intensive, and expensive...
